McLaren driver teased Verstappen about how he tried to puncture his tyres during the race. Norris also joked that he learned such a move from Formula 1 itself.
“I tried to puncture your rear left tyre with that. Learned it in F1,” he added.
During the Singapore Grand Prix, Norris was stuck behind Verstappen for a large part of the race. The British driver particularly found himself within DRS range of the Red Bull Racing star for nearly 30 laps around the Marina Bay streets.
However, Norris was unable to complete the overtake on the four-time world champion.
While Norris found it difficult to get past Verstappen,
he did manage to overtake teammate Oscar Piastri. The 25-year-old completed a first-lap move on the Australian to move up to third place – a position he would hold for the entirety of the Grand Prix.

He described it as largely “good racing,” adding that it made up for the disappointment he experienced during Saturday’s qualifying. The championship contender also took time to express his gratitude to the McLaren team for their efforts throughout the weekend.
Norris’s podium finish at the Singapore Grand Prix helped him cut the gap to the top of the championship standings to 22 points, with six races left on the 2025 calendar.
