Editorial Standards

GPblog is an international motorsport platform that reports daily on Formula 1 and other relevant motorsport championships. Through websites, videos, podcasts and social media channels, GPblog publishes news, analysis, interviews, background features and reporting from the paddock. The editorial team consists of specialised editors, reporters, presenters and content creators with knowledge of and experience within motorsport.

Our principles

GPblog operates according to the following editorial principles:
  • factual and careful reporting;
  • independent journalistic choices;
  • transparency towards readers;
  • a clear separation between editorial and commercial activities;
  • context, analysis and interpretation alongside news coverage.

Editorial independence

 GPblog's editorial team independently determines which topics are covered, which angles are chosen and when publications appear. Teams, drivers, sponsors, commercial partners, PR agencies, car manufacturers, advertisers and other external parties have no control over editorial content. Presence at events, media access or commercial relationships in no way detract from GPblog's editorial independence. Commercial collaborations or sponsored content are clearly and recognisably labelled.

Journalistic approach

GPblog publishes, among other things, news articles, analysis, interviews, background features, columns, videos and podcasts.
Publications may be based on:
  • our own reporting;
  • interviews with those involved;
  • press conferences and media sessions;
  • official documents and communications from, among others, the FIA, teams and organisers;
  • press releases;
  • public sources;
  • our own research and analysis. Where reasonably possible, GPblog verifies information against multiple independent sources and places information in context.

Own research and analysis

For its own research and analysis, GPblog draws on sources within its own network. In certain cases, information is shared on the condition that the source remains anonymous, in order not to jeopardise the position of the source or that of GPblog. Where reasonably possible, such information is verified against additional sources. When a source can and may be named, GPblog does so as a matter of principle.
Reporting, analysis and rumours GPblog has (FIA) accredited reporters who are regularly present during Formula 1 weekends and other motorsport events. News reporting, analysis, opinion and background stories may differ in form and character. When articles contain interpretations, expectations or personal insights, GPblog aims to make this sufficiently recognisable to readers. When information has not yet been officially confirmed, this is explicitly stated. Rumours, expectations or speculation are, where possible, distinguished from confirmed facts.

Corrections and updates

GPblog strives for the highest possible factual accuracy. When factual inaccuracies are identified, GPblog corrects them as soon as possible. Articles may also be updated when new relevant information becomes available. Readers can submit comments or correction requests via the contact details on the colophon page.

Commercial content

GPblog maintains a clear distinction between editorial and commercial content. Sponsored articles, advertorials or other commercial collaborations are recognisably labelled. Commercial relationships have no influence on independent journalistic reporting. Some publications may contain affiliate links. Any compensation has no influence on editorial choices or assessments.

Use of technology and AI

GPblog may use technology, including AI systems, to support research, translation, transcription, summarisation, content optimisation and editorial preparation. AI systems do not publish independently. Published content always falls under the editorial responsibility of GPblog and is checked, adjusted or supplemented by editors where necessary. Ultimate responsibility for publications lies with the editorial team.

Transparency and contact

GPblog publishes information about its organisation, editorial team, authors, expertise and contact options via the colophon page. Questions, comments, journalistic tips or correction requests can be directed to the editorial team via the contact details listed there.
