George Russell claimed victory in the Zandvoort Sprint, closing the gap by a few points to both Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli in the standings. Here is how the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships look after the race.
The Mercedes driver secured victory in the Dutch GP Sprint after converting his pole position into a controlled win at Zandvoort. The Mercedes driver held the lead at the start ahead of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, while Kimi Antonelli moved up to fourth after overtaking Oscar Piastri on the opening lap.
Russell gradually opened a gap at the front, leaving Norris, Leclerc and Antonelli locked together in the battle behind. Leclerc spent several laps putting pressure on the McLaren before finally making his move on lap 18, passing Norris down the inside at Turn 1 to take second place. Antonelli then attempted to follow the McLaren through, but Norris successfully defended third.
Russell ultimately crossed the line to take the Sprint victory, with Leclerc finishing second and Norris completing the podium. Antonelli had to settle for fourth ahead of Piastri, while Verstappen and Hamilton finished sixth and seventh respectively, having been unable to match the pace of the leading group.
