Verstappen, Antonelli and multiple drivers under investigation by FIA

Half the grid has been noted for failing to follow the maximum delta time.

They are: Esteban Ocon, Arvid Lindblad, Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Gabriel Bortoleto, Max Verstappen, George Russell, Kimi Antonelli, Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas.

The investigation will take place AFTER the session, meaning we won’t know the result until the grid is set.

A statement read: “FIA STEWARDS: SQ1 INCIDENT INVOLVING CARS 31 (OCO), 30 (LAW), 41 (LIN), 55 (SAI), 18 (STR), 5 (BOR), 3 (VER), 63 (RUS), 12 (ANT), 10 (GAS) AND 77 (BOT) WILL BE INVESTIGATED AFTER THE SESSION - FAILING TO FOLLOW RACE DIRECTORS INSTRUCTIONS - MAXIMUM DELTA TIME.”

Russell, who is under investigation, took provisional pole position for the sprint race, which will take place tomorrow at 12:00 PM CEST.

He was followed by Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri who are not among those under investigation.

The investigation was Verstappen's second of the session after he was cleared for a potential impeding incident with long-time rival Lewis Hamilton.

The FIA stewards noted the potential infringement in SQ1 when Verstappen and Hamilton came close together at Turn 3.

Eventually, the stewards announced that no further action would be taken.
