Alonso now knows where his F1 future lies after Alpine makes 2027 line-up decision

At the Dutch Grand Prix, Alonso had yet to confirm that he would drive for Aston Martin next year as well. The Spaniard then commented, despite previously saying that he would make a decision during the summer break: "I don't know. I just came from holiday now, so I will see in the next days or weeks or months. Let's see. I know Lawrence is coming this weekend, so I will have a nice lunch with him or coffee, and maybe Monza.

In an exclusive article, GPblog previously reported that the Spaniard had indeed made a decision about his future and that his partnership with Aston Martin would "simply" be extended, with an announcement expected during the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, which will take place in two weeks' time.

Earlier today, it was confirmed by Alpine that Colapinto will remain with the French outfit as Pierre Gasly's teammate during the 2027 season.

The Argentinian driver said: "I am very pleased to remain with this team in 2027. I feel very happy and very settled here and it's been even better that we have made significant progress this year compared to last. We have a lot more milestones to reach and I know the team is working so hard in finding performance and making the car better and better.
