Did the maths, if we calculate his fine to a percentage of his income, it’s 0.0017%, when you put this to average UK wage (31000 approx), Verstappen has been fined 52 great British pounds 😵‍💫

Could the Verstappen fine be harsher? Yes of course but that's my Hamilton fan head talking. I think what would have toned it down is when Seb inspected the Mercs in a previous year so there may have been an argument as to where the line is on things. #F1 #BrazilianGP

Just to put Max Verstappen's fine into context: If Forbes' report of his pay this year ($42m) is correct, that €50k fine is 0.5 days' income. #bbcf1
