Rumour: Perez will be announced this week as new driver of Red Bull

Rumours are growing that Alexander Albon's days as a Red Bull Racing racing driver are numbered. Sergio Perez now seems to be the right man to fight for the title together with Max Verstappen in 2021.

According to medium thejudge13, Perez has in the meantime become so well in the spotlight of Christian Horner and Helmut Marko that the two Dietrich Mateschitz (the big boss at Red Bull) have persuaded him to give Albon a role as a reserve driver. In this way, Perez will be able to get the full time drive.

This was a difficult decision for Mateschitz, because he himself prefers to see Albon in the car. Albon has Thai roots, just like Red Bull itself, which would help him to keep his seat.

For some time, there even seemed to be a rumour that Perez and Albon would share the seat, but thejudge13 comes back to this. The Mexican would get a full season's chance and Albon would become a reserve and test driver. Confirmation may be expected tomorrow or later this week.
