Henry Eccles is a freelance Formula 1 journalist for GPblog, where he covers breaking news, live race blogs, and feature content across the F1 calendar. Since joining GPblog in 2026, he has produced high-volume, fast-turnaround reporting on the sport’s biggest stories, alongside feature pieces including analysis and historical content.
His work focuses on delivering timely and accurate coverage of the Formula 1 news cycle, with reporting spanning race weekends, driver developments, and key stories from across the paddock.
Alongside his work at GPblog, Henry has written for publications including GiveMeSport and Sports News Blitz, where he covered a range of F1 topics such as Grand Prix previews, race debriefs, and opinion pieces. He has also contributed to podcast content, further broadening his coverage of the sport.
Henry holds an NCTJ Diploma in Journalism (Gold Standard) and a Distinction in MA Sports Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University, with training in media law, multimedia, and digital journalism. He also earned a First Class degree in History and Spanish from Queen’s University Belfast.
After spending a year working in Spain, Henry began pursuing a career in sports media, developing a particular focus on Formula 1 after covering the 2025 season, having also not missed a Grand Prix since 2020.
