Lando Norris has had just about enough of questions regarding the concerns Max Verstappen's title comeback, and it's potential consequences, may elicit within him.
Yeah. Very worried about it, and scared, frankly. So yeah, I was happy you asked that, actually… Yeah, no.
- Lando Norris
After the Hungarian Grand Prix the F1 community had largely and tacitly agreed that Verstappen simply wouldn't play a starring role in the championship fight anymore. However, in the last four races the Dutchman's worst result has been a P2, of which he's got two off at the Dutch Grand Prix and last time out in Singapore, with two dominant back-to-back wins in Italy and Azerbaijan as well.
These results have seen the current F1 champion cut Oscar Piastri's 105 points lead down to 63, more than half, in just four Grands Prix. And with Red Bull showing no signs of being hindered by factors such as track layout, temperature and humidity, for instance, it is impossible to write Verstappen off from the title fight.
After the Singapore Grand Prix, where he came home to finish P3 ahead of teammate Piastri in P4, thus taking another three points from the Australian driver's lead in the Championship Standings which is now less than a race win, Norris was questioned with regard to Verstappen being back in the title fight, and if whether or not he was concerned with the potential McLaren response the Red Bull Raving driver might prompt, like favouring Piastri's title bid and use Norris to keep what would be McLaren's first double title in over two decades.

An unimpressed and sarcastic Norris then said: "I’m very concerned.”
“Yeah. Very worried about it, and scared, frankly.
“So yeah, I was happy you asked that, actually… Yeah, no."

Norris looks like a F1 championship contender now

In Singapore the Briton barged his way in as he fought teammate Piastri for P3 at the start. Despite the contact, which coupled with McLaren's reaction left Piastri fuming, Norris made no qualms about his overtake manoeuvre, and even suggested that people who found him at fault for the move "shouldn't be in F1."
