Lewis Hamilton has once again managed to put his name in the history books at the Singapore Grand Prix. Sunday at the Marina Bay Street Circuit turned out to be one to forget for the British world champion.
Despite having a brake issue that led to Hamilton losing three positions, the Ferrari driver still set the fastest lap of the race. His lap time was a 1:33.808.
That means he now holds the record for the most fastest laps across 16 consecutive seasons, a streak that began in 2010.
Michael Schumacher's best stint lasted from 1992 to 2006, spanning 15
Formula 1 seasons.
Hamilton already held the record for the most seasons with a fastest lap. He has achieved that at least once in every year bar 2009.
From this season onwards, however, that does not translate into an additional point in the standings.

Hamilton hits back at Alonso on social media
After having a brake issue, Hamilton began cutting corners with Fernando Alonso chasing behind. As a result, the seven-time world champion was given a five-second time penalty by the stewards.
The Aston Martin driver was especially angry at his former teammate over the team radio, saying:
"I cannot f****** believe it. Is it safe to drive with no brakes?”Check out GPblog's latest F1 Paddock Update episode here!
