Lewis Hamilton responded to Fernando Alonso’s radio outburst during the Singapore GP in a rather peculiar way.
The Briton took to his Instagram Stories to share a series of clips from the sitcom One Foot in the Grave, in which the main character repeatedly exclaims, “I don’t believe it!”
A clear nod to the two-time world champion’s furious outburst after the Singapore Grand Prix, where Alonso lost his temper over failing to overtake Hamilton by just a few tenths at the line — despite the Briton’s late brake issues.
Hamilton added an extra touch of irony with the caption “18 years of...”, a subtle reference to his debut season in Formula 1 — the very same year he was teammates with Alonso at McLaren.

What sparked the feud between Hamilton and Alonso?

The seven-time world champion found himself under investigation for an alleged breach of Article 33.3 of the FIA Sporting Regulations, after reportedly leaving the track without valid reason. Struggling with brake issues in the final stages, he was forced to concede places to both Antonelli and Leclerc.
Despite the car’s difficulties, Hamilton managed to bring it home, though not without cutting several corners as he fought to stay in control — eventually crossing the line narrowly ahead of Alonso.
That finish was enough to reignite the long-standing friction between the two, with Alonso venting his frustration over the radio in a heated message to his engineer.
The Spaniard didn’t stop there, once again voicing discontent over what he perceives as inconsistent stewarding — referencing Hamilton’s earlier incident in FP3, when the Briton accelerated under red flags yet escaped without a penalty.
