took the lead of the drivers' championship thanks to a commanding weekend at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
After an impressive qualifying session saw him go three-tenths quicker than any other driver on the grid, the 25-year-old backed that up, never relinqueshing his lead that exceeded 20 seconds.

However, after the Grand Prix, during both the post-race interviews and the podium ceremony,
boos rang around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
"I keep my head down, I ignore all of this, keep to myself. It's working at the minute, so I'm happy," was the response of the Brit.
After the Mexico City Grand Prix, the FIA released a statement where they explained a couple of decisions made by race control during the race.
A late race retirement for Carlos Sainz saw a virtual safety car come out with only a few laps left, and although it ended with one lap remaining, the battles for P2 and P4 were neutralised, stopping what could have been a grandstand finish.
