Russell learns stewards' verdict after Madrid qualifying

George Russell only qualified sixth for the Spanish Grand Prix, and the Briton was also summoned to the stewards after the conclusion of the session. The decision is now in.
After the session, it was indicated that Russell would be investigated for not following the race director's escape road instructions in qualifying. In the end, he was handed a warning.
In qualifying, the Briton finished only sixth, while his teammate and championship rival, Kimi Antonelli, is set to start from the front row of the grid. Entering tomorrow's race, the gap between the two drivers stands at 66 points.
The verdict
"The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 63 (George Russell), team representative and video, timing, team radio and in-car video evidence.

"The driver of Car 63 left the track at Turn 5 to make way for an incoming car, but re-joined the track without staying to the right of the bollard in the runoff area. The driver stated during the hearing that he stayed to the left of the bollard to re-join earlier because he was worrying about impeding the car behind. However, the driver admitted that he could have gone around the bollard.
"The Stewards acknowledge that the driver acted in good faith, but determine that it would have been possible for him to take the prescribed route."
Antonelli gets a warning
The Italian exceeded the maximum time limit between the SC2 and SC1 lines during Q3. For this incident, he was handed a warning by the stewards.
