Stewards share verdict on Antonelli after post-qualifying investigation

After the conclusion of the session, a total of three drivers were summoned to the stewards for exceeding the maximum time limit between the SC2 and SC1 lines at the Madring during qualifying. Antonelli and Bortoleto have both received warnings from the stewards.

Bortoleto was the first one to receive his verdict this afternoon. The stewards wrote: "Car 5 had to make way for another car in the middle sector of the lap but did not recover enough time to comply with the required delta time. The driver stated during the hearing that it was very difficult for him to maintain the delta after letting the other car by due to energy management requirements.

In the Italian's case, the stewards wrote: "Car 12 returned to the pits after setting his final lap time in Q3 without any other cars interfering and did not comply with the delta time requirements. The driver stated during the hearing that it was difficult for him to maintain the delta due to energy management requirements and minor technical issues. However, he admitted that he could have done more to comply with the delta time."

Leclerc was the last one to receive his verdict. In his case, the team was handed a reprimand.
