Marc Marquez won the San Marino Grand Prix and now leads the riders' standings. Alex Marquez finished second, while KTM's Pedro Acosta completed the podium.
Unlike during the Sprint, Bezzecchi managed to hold onto the lead after the start against Marquez, but the Italian crashed out at Turn 12, elevating the Ducati rider and Jorge Martin to first and second place.
As the two title contenders began to pull away at the front, Acosta and Alex Marquez battled for third place, with Aldeguer also hoping to join the fight. On Lap 4, the younger Marquez brother made the move stick after a tough battle with the KTM rider.
Three laps later, Martin took the lead from Marquez, who then came under pressure from his brother Alex. However, the defending world champion managed to recover after a couple of laps and reclaim the lead on Lap 12.

Afterwards, Martin began losing ground. Alex Marquez overtook him on Lap 14, and he then lost two more positions to the two Murcian riders, Pedro Acosta and Fermin Aldeguer.
During the closing laps of the race, Alex began to close the gap to his brother once again, but Marc Marquez managed to hold on to claim all 25 points and take the lead in the riders' standings. He is currently tied on points with Martin but has won more Grands Prix so far this year.
The best Italian rider today, Fabio Di Giannantonio, crossed the finish line only in seventh place. Francesco Bagnaia's disappointing run of form also continued today, as the Italian star crashed out on Lap 5.

What happened in Moto2 and Moto3 earlier today at Misano?
Manuel Gonzalez won the Moto2 race at the San Marino Grand Prix earlier today. The Spaniard capitalized on all three riders on the front row crashing out at Turn 1 to claim all 25 points. His championship rival, Izan Guevara, finished only sixth.
In Moto3, championship leader Maximo Quiles defeated David Almansa by just 0.021 seconds. After a lap-long battle between the two Spanish talents, the Aspar rider eventually came out on top.
