Marc Marquez won the Sprint at the San Marino Grand Prix. Marco Bezzecchi finished second, while Jorge Martin completed the podium this Saturday.
After a stunning start, Marquez went down the inside of Bezzecchi at Turn 1 and immediately took the lead of the Sprint. During the following laps, the Spaniard began to open a gap to his Aprilia rival, and by the end of Lap 6, he was more than a second ahead.
Entering the final five laps, Bezzecchi began to push harder to catch the Ducati rider and claim all 12 points. However, on Lap 11, Marquez fought back by setting the fastest lap of the Sprint.
In terms of the riders' championship, Martin now leads the standings by 14 points ahead of Marquez, and 22 points ahead of his teammate Bezzecchi.
