Alex Marquez

Alex Marquez first entered Moto3 in 2012 and had a turbulent rise to MotoGP. After spending three years with three different teams, Alex won the Moto3 title in 2014 ahead of riders such as Jack Miller, Alex Rins, Enea Bastianini and Francesco Bagnaia.

He then joined Kalex in Moto2 where he spent five seasons in total, winning the class in 2019.

Alex Marquez struggled in the show of his brother’s astronomical achievements when he first raced in MotoGP, but he did prove his own talents with back-to-back podiums in 2020, his rookie year.

It wasn’t until 2025 where Alex Marquez truly made a name for himself independently of his brother, securing a clear runner-up spot in the championship and race wins in Jerez, Catalonia and Malaysia. 

2025 was certainly a stand-out year for the Marquez family as the brothers managed to claim a family 1-2 in the championship standings.

While Marc largely dominated the season with 11 race victories, Alex also had his most successful season in MotoGP, claiming a total of three wins and a further nine podiums. 

Alex Marquez was born on 23 April 1996 in Cervera, Spain. He is currently 29 years old. His height is estimated to be around 1.8 meters and weight roughly 65kg. He is the younger brother of fellow MotoGP rider Marc Marquez.

While no precise figure is available for Alex Marquez’s net worth, it was assumed to be around $3.1 million in February 2025. His current contract with Gresini is assumed to be worth roughly $1.8 million per season.
