Marc Marquez won the Aragon Grand Prix for the eighth time in MotoGP. Pedro Acosta finished second, while Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium today at MotorLand Aragon.
Marquez was brave off the line and overtook Bezzecchi into Turn 1, but after the opening corners, he lost ground and dropped behind not only the Italian but also Martin. However, in Turn 15, the Ducati rider reclaimed second place.
On Lap 6, Marquez overtook Bezzecchi after going side-by-side on the back straight at 350 km/h, and Acosta also flew past the Aprilia rider to take second place entering the final corner.
Acosta was able to stay close to Marquez for several laps and at one point even set the exact same lap time as the Ducati rider, but as the race entered its final third, the defending champion began to push harder and pull away from his future teammate.

The KTM rider managed to hold on to second place ahead of Bezzecchi. Alex Marquez finished fourth, while championship leader Martin crossed the finish line in fifth place.

Marquez gets closer to Martin in the riders' standings

Thanks to his victory on Sunday after winning the Sprint a day earlier, Marquez is now second in the riders' standings, 19 points behind Martin. Bezzecchi currently trails his teammate by 24 points and sits in third place.
