Alonso Lopez won the Moto2 Aragon Grand Prix leading from start to finish ahead of future MotoGP riders Izan Guevara and David Alonso.
Starting from pole position, Lopez maintained the lead and set the pace ahead of future MotoGP riders Guevara and Dani Holgado during the first part of the race.
The future Gresini Racing rider was also chased by Collin Veijer after the Dutchman overtook championship leader Manuel Gonzalez, while the Intact GP rider was also being chased by Colombian talent David Alonso. Veijer made his move on Lap 9 in the final corner to move up to third place, while Alonso and Senna Agius both got past Gonzalez in the first sector on Lap 10. The Colombian rider also overtook his teammate a lap later.
With five laps to go, Alonso caught up to Veijer and made the move stick to claim third place. Moments later, the Dutchman lost control of his bike in Turn 4 and crashed out of the race.
On the final lap, Guevara and Alonso had an incredible battle for second place, with the Pramac Racing rider coming out on top. Thanks to this result, and Gonzalez finishing only sixth, Guevara gained 10 points on his rival in the riders' standings. He is now 32.5 points behind the Intact GP rider.
