Sergio 'Checo' Perez has reached an agreement with F1 newest entry, Cadillac, to drive for the American team in 2026... Or at least that what autoevolution.com reports. The deal between Perez and the American giant General Motors backed F1 team, according to the media outlet, has already been signed.
Furthermore, they claim it is set to be announced after the F1 circus has gone into the summer break set to start after the Hungarian Grand Prix has been raced on 4th of August.
What we know regarding Cadillac's driver line-up

Cadillac are yet to sign any driver to their line-up as of yet, with
Valtteri Bottas and Perez both remaining as strong candidates to take over at least one of the seats of the two available.
Preffered candidate
Colton Herta has seemingly dropped out of contention due to lacking the required points to attain an FIA Super License, necessary to race in Formula 1. With the American experiencing a season that has seen him unable to fight for the top spots it is now highly unlikely that he will be eligible in the immediate future.
Cadillac team principal shoots down rumours of any driver being signed
The team principal who's spearheding Cadillac's entry into F1 also revealed speaking on the High Performance Podcast that the flock of drivers who are currently on the grid and are under expiring contracts, are set to renew with their present teams, making a note of George Russell's case at Mercedes.
"So the few [drivers] that will be out of [a] contract that are currently on the [F1] grid, their teams are saying that, [like] Toto said that there's a timeline they're going to do their deal".
As far as Cadillac goes they are looking at drivers who are currently out of F1. Speaking in the High Performance Podcast, though, Lowdon revealed that as of yet, no pen had been put to paper, when addressing the type of conversations he's had with the drivers that under consideration for the American team.
"So when we start that process, because up to now, the meetings that we've had now is pretty much to tell them all to ignore what they're reading. We haven't signed anyone, don't get too frustrated."
