Cadillac is the new Formula 1 team backed by General Motors, set to join the grid in 2026 with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas as its drivers.

Cadillac F1

Cadillac enters Formula 1 as an ambitious new works project, aiming to compete with established teams like Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. The team is building its own infrastructure, with a main base in Fishers (Indiana) and additional facilities in Silverstone, Charlotte and Warren.
Initially, Cadillac will run with Ferrari power units. The long-term plan is to become a full works team from 2028 with a power unit developed by General Motors.
With Cadillac’s entry, the Formula 1 grid expands to eleven teams.

Cadillac will officially debut in Formula 1 in 2026 with Perez and Bottas as its driver lineup. Graeme Lowdon is the team principal.
Due to the new technical regulations, all teams effectively start from scratch, giving Cadillac an opportunity to be competitive from the outset.

Andretti Global and Cadillac

The project was originally launched as Andretti Cadillac, led by Michael Andretti. Although approved by the FIA, it was initially rejected by Formula One Management.

The structure was later revised. Michael Andretti stepped back and TWG Global, led by Dan Towriss, took control. The team was renamed Cadillac Formula Racing Ltd., removing the Andretti name.
Mario Andretti remains involved as a board member. In March 2025, Cadillac’s entry to the Formula 1 grid was officially confirmed.

Cadillac F1 drivers 2026

Cadillac has opted for experience in its debut season, with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas as race drivers.
Pietro Fittipaldi is the development driver, while Colton Herta serves as test and reserve driver. Herta will also compete in Formula 2 to secure the points required for a super licence.
