The 11th team on the grid, Cadillac, are set to join in less than a year's time. Still, the American squad are yet to announce a driver for the upcoming campaign.
In 2026, two Cadilllac cars will be on the grid, but who will drive them? GPblog has learned that the Americans will not confirm their drivers soon for the '26 season, when they will join the Formula 1 grid.

Why haven't Cadillac announced a driver for 2026?

Currently, there is no rush at the Cadillac team. The two experienced drivers they have been linked to are Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish driver also recently posted a video on social media, looking at a seat of a Cadillac road car. However, neither drivers are expected to be off the market anytime soon.
While the Americans are also waiting to decide who would the be right fit, more drivers could become available as well, given the other teams on the grid would like to make changes.
Therefore, possibly new drivers can be on the market, for example, if Red Bull Racing would decide to have another driver alongside Max Verstappen and let Yuki Tsunoda go.
While the team's director of the board, Mario Andretti is also fond of IndyCar Colton Herta, he revealed in an exclusive interview with GPblog, however, the American is not certain of getting a super license.
As a result, with plenty of factors still in play, the newest F1 team are biding their time.
