Oliver Bearman crashed heavily into the barriers at Massenet towards the end of FP3 in Monaco, in an incident remarkably similar to Fernando Alonso's accident in a Ferrari at the same corner back in 2010. Race control immediately brought the session to a halt, with marshals dispatched to remove Bearman's damaged Haas and sweep the circuit clear before running could resume. The Brit was running in 13th place at the time of the accident.
The FIA subsequently confirmed that the damaged guardrail was being inspected by the race director before the session could resume.
Antonelli edges out home favourite Leclerc to finish fastest in Monaco FP3
Mercedes emerged as the pacesetter during the
final practice session in Monaco, with Kimi Antonelli producing a series of increasingly competitive laps to take control of the timesheets ahead of qualifying. Ferrari remained firmly in the mix throughout, with Charles Leclerc repeatedly trading fastest laps with the Italian and continuing to show strong pace around his home circuit.
The battle at the front intensified as both drivers improved their benchmarks during the session, but Antonelli ultimately gained the upper hand when the field switched to fresh tyres. Leclerc looked capable of responding, only for traffic in the final sector to ruin what had been a highly promising lap.
A late red flag caused by a heavy crash brought running to a halt and left teams with virtually no time to mount a final challenge once the session resumed. As a result, Antonelli's earlier effort remained unbeaten, allowing the championship leader to finish FP3 on top ahead of Leclerc and Hamilton heading into a crucial qualifying session.
