It's time for the most important event of the weekend: the Italian Grand Prix. Stay with us throughout the session as GPblog brings you the latest updates and exclusive insights straight from the Monza paddock.
After an eventful qualifying session, Pierre Gasly is set to start from pole position at today's Italian Grand Prix. The Frenchman was among the last drivers to complete his flying lap in Q3 and narrowly finished ahead of George Russell. Oscar Piastri initially qualified third, but after receiving a three-place grid penalty for impeding Liam Lawson in Q2, the two Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, will complete the second row. Max Verstappen also gained a position and will start from P5.
Lando Norris did not have a tow on his second attempt in Q3 after Piastri made a mistake and will start only from P8. Moreover, three drivers are set to start from the back of the grid after the planned power unit changes: Kimi Antonelli, Liam Lawson, and Alex Albon.
In terms of the championship picture, home favourite Antonelli leads the standings by 59 points over both his teammate Russell and Hamilton. However, the Italian will certainly start from the back of the grid on Sunday afternoon due to an engine penalty. In fourth place, Norris, who has won the last two Grands Prix, is 83 points behind.

Hamilton critical of 'equal' Ferrari treatment after Monza Qualifying: 'We stumbled'

The seven-time world champion was critical of Ferrari after qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.
He told GPblog, among others: "I think at the end was the team was solely focused on trying to get an equal tow for each driver. And we just, as I said, we just stumbled."
The British driver was then asked why he believed team cooperation continues to not be quite where it should. "It's not a question for me. You have to ask Fred [Vasseur, Ferrari team principal]."
