Oscar Piastri is already eyeing a move to Ferrari, according to reports after his frustrating Singapore Grand Prix.
Swiss newspaper Blick reported that current championship leader Piastri is considering joining Scuderia Ferrari for the 2027 season. According to the publication, both Ferrari's current drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, have contracts that are set to expire at the end of next season.
This news comes after the Singapore Grand Prix, where the two McLaren drivers made contact on Lap 1 with Piastri announcing his frustration at McLaren's failure to swap places with Lando Norris, who forced the Australian to go wide and yield position.

It comes after Piastri was told during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza to allow Norris to overtaken when the Brit had a slow pit stop, despite not being Piastri's fault.

McLaren explains post-race misunderstanding

McLaren team boss Andrea Stella explained that from the team's perspective they want their drivers to act that way and to communicate their thoughts clearly, so was supportive of Piastri's comments and understood his frustration.
The Italian commented: "Obviously Oscar made some statements while he was in the car, but that's the kind of character that we want to have from our drivers."
After the session, a video surfaced on social media of Piastri cutting CEO Zak Brown off mid-sentence over the team radio. GPblog understands that the Australian turned off his car before the American boss began his message.

Piastri was also exempt from the team celebrating its second constructors' world title in a row on the Singapore podium. The driver was simply fulfilling his media duties and hence could not attend.
McLaren further told this website"It wasn't our plan to celebrate then, but appreciative of F1 to make that possible for the team."
Ferrari has struggled this season to challenge for podiums on a regular basis with Hamilton, Leclerc and boss Frederic Vasseur all coming in for criticism. Hamilton's move from Mercedes has not yet yielded the results either he or the team were hoping for.
