The FIA and Formula 1 aim to ban the qualifying mode from the Belgian Grand Prix. Earlier it was already known that this is probably not feasible, but Helmut Marko hopes that the rule will come as soon as possible.
The dominance of Mercedes has been present in Formula 1 since 2014. After a long period in which Red Bull Racing was dominant, they were happy that once another team won. However, now six years later Mercedes is still in power and Formula 1 seems to want to do something about it. According to Helmut Marko this could be beneficial for Red Bull Racing.

Can Verstappen still become world champion?

''That would be very good for us, because with a ban on that qualifying mode we can also take pole. In Barcelona lost half a second because of the 'party mode' of Mercedes and in Spa it will be about eight tenths. We are working every week on the chassis and are getting more and more close. Therefore I think that we are equal to Mercedes in Belgium", says Marko to F1-insider.com.
''It is also very important for us, because we have not yet given up our main goal: to make Max Verstappen the youngest world champion. We know what is still possible with this car and in 2012 with Sebastian Vettel have also closed a gap of 60 points on Fernando Alonso'', concludes Marko.
