Rick Jansen, known to Formula 1 fans as DJ Admin, is skipping the first three races of the Formula 1 season. Normally, he is the DJ at Formula 1 races, but the Dutchman will not travel to the first three races due to the situation in the Middle East. Jansen begins on his Instagram: “The past few days have been a rollercoaster. It’s terrible what is happening in the world. In the coming days and weeks, I was supposed to travel a lot through the Middle East to, among other places, Australia. Over the past few days, we’ve had many conversations with the first three circuits on the calendar, so Australia, China, and Japan. Since I like certainty, we’ve decided not to play at these first three races.”
Dutch DJ stays home due to Middle East situation
It was a difficult decision for Jansen to stay home: “I’m doing this with a heavy heart. But it’s mainly because, at this moment, especially in the Middle East, so many innocent civilians are dying, and I don’t think it’s responsible to travel.”
As DJ Admin, Jansen is a familiar face in the paddock. He has been a DJ for Formula 1 for years. He often does this for the circuits, but he also sometimes performs at the
Max Verstappen grandstands at the European circuits.
