Daniel Ricciardo had a good recovery drive to come back from a poor qualifying which saw him start the race from P16. The Australian finished ninth and was pleased to get some points.

When asked how he bounced back from a poor saturday Ricciardo admitted that it was hard to move on from.

"To be honest, it's hard to shake it off and you know what it's like.. most of us believe in ourselves a lot and when you don't execute it eats at you and we know in F1 that qualifying is so important," the Aussie said to Sky Sports.

"What I did last night was watch some of the fights... there was some boxing fights on and try not to think about it!"

Ricciardo moved on and Sunday was a much better day.

"Today there were moments of speed and moments that were still not quite there. I took a lot from today's race. With setup there are things that can work in my favour. So, Barcelona should be good."

It was a good battle in the midfield and one that Ricciardo thinks that will be very close at each circuit.

"His [Alonso] pace at the end was really good on the hard. That was serious pace. If it is sustainable then they are going to be a threat all year. I feel all this midfield battle could be track dependent."
