MotoGP 2027 rider line-up: Full grid after final signing confirmed

The 2027 MotoGP grid is now complete - well, sort of.
We now know the 22 riders for the sport’s new era, with Tech3 completing the line-up by signing Moto2 title contender Senna Agius.
The only doubt remains between Honda signings Diogo Moreira and David Alonso, who will race for the Honda factory team, and who will take the LCR bike.
However, a season of speculation is now all but done as we head into an era of new, smaller 850cc engines, reduced aerodynamics and Pirelli tyres.
Only three riders entered the season with contracts, meaning the MotoGP ‘Silly Season’ was more bonkers than ever, and Ducati triggered the chaos, so that’s where we begin…

Ducati made a number of bombshell moves to start the transfer cycle, first signing nine-time champion Marc Marquez to a new two-year deal.
The 33-year-old overcame more injury and retirement fears to start the season and comfortably outshone the team’s most successful rider, Francesco Bagnaia, for another year.
That prompted Ducati to part ways with the Italian and bring in the hottest prospect on the market, Pedro Acosta, who will join from KTM also through to the end of 2028.

Having lost such a big name in Acosta, KTM have replaced him with two race-winning talents to more than satisfy their fans.

The team said goodbye to Brad Binder, who will head to WorldSBK, and signed 2025 riders’ championship runner-up Alex Marquez from Gresini.
They then paired him with another race winner, Fabio Di Giannantonio from VR46, with the duo both signing ‘multi-year’ deals.

Arguably the fastest bike on the grid this season, Aprilia tied their early championship leader, Marco Bezzecchi, to a new multi-year contract after his winning start to the season.
They then completed an all-Italian line-up by picking up Bagnaia from Ducati and giving him the longest contract on the grid, through to the end of 2030.

Amid yet another season in the doldrums, Yamaha have gone for a complete refresh for 2027.
2021 champion Fabio Quartararo ends his long-time partnership with the team, and Alex Rins also departs, recently admitting he will stop with ‘two-wheeled racing’.
Yamaha acted quickly and cleverly, bringing in another champion in the shape of Jorge Martin from Aprilia.
They also kept their Japanese fans happy and secured one of the biggest talents on the grid with Ai Ogura joining from Trackhouse, signing until the end of 2028, like Martin.

Much like fellow Japanese squad Yamaha, it’s been another year from hell for Honda, who have also made wholesale changes.
Both 2020 champion Joan Mir and Luca Marini will be departing the team.
Their project will be based around Quartararo, who signs through to the end of 2028, and his teammate is as yet unknown.
It will be either LCR rider Moreira or Moto2 title contender Alonso who have both signed with the team, and who gets the top spot will be based on how the end of the season goes.

Runners-up in 2025, Gresini have been dealt a blow with their second-placed finisher Marquez heading to KTM. Things got worse when their Rookie of the Year, Fermin Aldeguer, signed with VR46.
They’ve reacted by signing Mir from Honda in the hope he can get back to top form, and paired him with Moto2 title contender Dani Holgado. Both have signed until the end of 2028.

Valentino Rossi’s eponymous squad made a bold choice to go outside of their talent pool with the signing of the highly-rated Spaniard Aldeguer until the end of 2028.
Di Giannantonio’s departure meant the team wanted another Italian, and they got one in the shape of their former academy man, Nicolo Bulega, who will join after completely dominating WorldSBK.
That deal includes their first-ever academy rider, Franco Morbidelli, heading to Superbikes to replace him.

One of the fastest bikes on the grid in 2026, Aprilia satellite squad Trackhouse will be keeping Raul Fernandez after losing Ogura to Yamaha.
They’re pairing him with Enea Bastianini, who joins from Tech3 and hopes to get back into podium contention.

Tech3 were the last team on the grid to confirm their 2027 riders, having opted against clauses to extend Bastianini and Maverick Vinales’ contracts.
They went for experience in the first seat, signing Marini from Honda, and completed the 2027 grid by snapping up Australian Moto2 title contender Senna Agius.

LCR were one of the only certainties for 2027 with Johann Zarco already signed. Who partners him will depend on the rest of the season.
Current teammate Moreira could move up to the Honda factory squad and be replaced by Alonso, or the Moto2 title contender could get that bike and leave the Brazilian where he is.

Pramac also have Turkish talent Toprak Razgatlioglu on a 2027 deal and have decided to partner him with another Moto2 graduate.
Izan Guevara will be his teammate next season and could still join with a Moto2 championship added to his 2022 Moto3 world title.
