Aprilia dominate Ducati in COTA as Bez sets new record

Aprilia took control from the first few laps and followed up their statement performance in Brazil with an even bigger one in Texas.

Jorge Martin finished in 2nd place after an impressive win in the sprint race, while Pedro Acosta managed to hang on for a podium ahead of pole-sitter Fabio Di Giannantonio. Marc Marquez battled back through the field to finish fifth despite a long lap penalty, while Enea Bastianini was very impressive climbing up from P12. Check out the full results table below:

In addition to winning the race by a comfortable margin, Bezzecchi also set a new record for the most consecutive laps led in the premier, smashing the one previously held by Jorge Lorenzo.

It was a disappointing race for Ai Ogura who was carving his way through the field and looked like a certain podium finisher until a mechanical failure forced him to retire from the race.

There was some positive news for Toprak Razgatlioglu as he scored his first MotoGP point for the Pramac Yamaha team.
