Michael Schumacher gets treatment to return to a more 'normal' life

FIA president Jean Todt says his 'good friend' Michael Schumacher is being treated to return to a normal life.

He was injured after a severe skiing accident in the French Alps. For a long time it was assumed that Schumacher would never be able to function normally again, but now according to Todt it appears that there are new treatments going on for the racing legend to make his life a little more 'normal'.

Todt is one of the few people admitted to Schumacher. Apart from family, no one is actually welcome at his house in Switzerland, where he is taken care of. "I'm very discreet when it comes to this subject," says Todt to the French Ouest France, as quoted by Het Nieuwsblad. "We know that Michael had a skiing accident on December 29th 2013 and that unfortunately it had serious consequences. Since then, he has been treated to return to a more normal life."

Until now, very little was said by the family and those involved about Schumacher's condition. This is the first subtle hint that things would slowly improve with the seven-time world champion. Starting next year, his son Mick will compete in Formula 1, about whom Todt said the following: "I am happy because it is a family that is close to my heart. Mick is a boy that I have seen grow up. He has a passion for motorsport and racing. If he's doing well I'm happy," said the FIA President.
