Last week, GPblog was the first to report that Pirelli had scheduled a test at the Nürburgring. This has replaced the initial test in Bahrain, which was cancelled at the last minute due to the then newly erupted war in the Middle East.
Nyck de Vries was in Bahrain at the time to conduct the tyre test, but the Dutchman will not be in action now. McLaren plans to run Norris and Piastri this time. That way, the pair can log mileage while
Formula 1 is forced into a spring break.
Norris and Piastri will have the chance to enjoy the Nürburgring, although they will not be lapping the long and legendary Nordschleife.
Max Verstappen, however, will be in action there this month. The Dutchman will take part in the qualifying races for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, which is on the calendar in May.
Lance Stroll was also on the Nordschleife last week. The Canadian from Aston Martin, for his part, announced this Thursday that he
will race in a GT category.
