Last week, Max Verstappen's Grand Prix ended into Turn 3, as he was forced to retire, resulting in a dramatic weekend for him and his team, Red Bull Racing. McLaren, in turn, dominated the race at the Red Bull Ring. In the presence of GPblog, Verstappen was asked whether there are still circuits on the schedule this summer they could win at. The answer was not encouraging.
The Austrian Grand Prix was supposed to be a turning point for Red Bull Racing. Helmut Marko had stated that updates would be introduced in Spielberg, as well as this weekend in Silverstone. If these updates failed to work, the championship would become very difficult, according to the Austrian top advisor.
It was actually McLaren that made a leap forward, and confidently secured a one-two finish ahead of the two Ferrari cars.

No More Hope for Red Bull and Verstappen?

But is there still hope for the summer break? Verstappen replied, "I mean some tracks will probably be a bit nicer, but I think with the gap that we have it's not going to be I think enough to win a race on pure pace."
This has actually been the case for the entire season. In Japan, it was difficult to overtake, allowing Verstappen to win the race from pole position. In Imola, it seemed as though Red Bull had it better organised, and after a maneuver by the Dutchman into Turn 1, they gained an advantage.
Normally, the RB21 performs better in cooler conditions. In Silverstone, cooler weather is expected for the time being, and there is also a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.
When asked about whether he would have a chance in rainy conditions, he added: "I think they are also quite strong in the rain."
