Williams make line-up switch ahead of Italian GP FP1

For Browning, it will mark his second appearance behind the wheel of a 2026 car in an official session, having already had the opportunity to familiarise himself with the new generation of machinery in Austria.

More broadly, this will mark Browning's sixth FP1 appearance for Williams. This year, the Briton is competing in Japan's Super Formula championship after leaving Formula 2 at the end of last season.

Browning expressed his excitement at receiving another opportunity to take part in an FP1 session with Williams, highlighting the value of gaining further mileage in the FW48 and improving his understanding of the car.

The Briton also stressed the importance of providing useful data and feedback to the team at Grove, while continuing his own development. His main focus for the weekend will be supporting Williams and helping the team maximise its result at Monza.

The 2026 season has so far proved very difficult for Williams, who sit third from bottom in the Constructors' Championship after 12 races with just 11 points. The British team must now also keep an eye on the improving Aston Martin, who picked up two valuable points through Fernando Alonso at Zandvoort, with the AMR26 rapidly moving up the pecking order thanks to its recent upgrades.
