Verstappen's plane lands in Germany

Max Verstappen's private jet has landed in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, the closest private airport to the Nordschleife.
Max Verstappen will make his return at the 'Green Hell' this weekend, after the Dutchman earned his DMSB Permit Nordschleife two weekends ago.
The last time, the four-time world champion had to drive a GT4 car with less power, however, on this occasion he will finally get the chance to drive the Ferrari 296 GT3.
Looking ahead to this adventure, Verstappen said on his website: “It is my passion to do these kinds of GT3 races too. I can’t wait!
“I’m passionate about racing, also outside of Formula 1. Every lap at the Nordschleife is a different kind of experience.
"The atmosphere is also really good and there are a lot of endurance fans present."
Verstappen last drove in Race 7 in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he finished seventh in the Cup 3 Class and 27th overall. He will now return for Race 9 of the season this Saturday.

Verstappen back in contention for the F1 title?

Similarly to his victory at Monza, Verstappen won starting from pole position at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Thanks to this result and Oscar Piastri's DNF, the gap between the two drivers currently stands at 69 points.
About his chances, the defending world champion said in Baku: "I don't rely on hope, but it's seven rounds left, and 69 points is a lot. So I personally don't think about it—I just take it race by race, which is what I’ve been doing basically the whole season: trying to do the best we can, trying to score as many points as possible. And then after Abu Dhabi, we'll know."
