Yuki Tsunoda has spoken about his future at Red Bull Racing following the recent admission made by team principal, Laurent Mekies.
Earlier, the Red Bull chief detailed that the Milton Keynes-based outfit will decide on its second seat following the conclusion of the season. Mekies also gave a neutral response about the Japanese driver continuing with the team for the 2026 campaign.
However, following the conclusion of the Italian Grand Prix, Tsunoda himself weighed in on his future at the team. Speaking with GPblog, the 25-year-old, who hinted about understanding the message the 48-year-old was trying to convey, also stressed what he needs to do to ensure he keeps his seat at Red Bull for 2026.
“I'm choosing the word because I know exactly what he's trying to do. Whether it's enough or it's not enough, it's up to them. And I'm just squeezing the performance from the current package I got. I'm just pushing every single room that they gave me. And I'm pleased that I'm able to make progress race by race, clearly.”
“But also at the same time, winning the points, that's something that we can see clearly on the paper. And that's what I'm working on. So, overall, I don't know, it's up to them, but I just have to keep pushing.”
