Ford CEO Jim Farley has stated that Max Verstappen has "provided" the American company with "stability without drama" before the 2026 season.
The giant automobile manufacturer will make its way into the premier class of motorsport next season with a brand new power unit, partnering up with Red Bull Racing as their engine supplier.
It comes after a turbulent year for the Austrian team as they tumble down the standings after Verstappen's four consecutive driver world titles between 2021 and 2024, which included the sacking of Christian Horner, who was then replaced by Laurent Mekies in a seismic change to the team.

Farley: "Respect has really grown" with Verstappen

However, despite the issues that have troubled Red Bull throughout the 2025 campaign, consigning them to fourth in the constructors' championship after the Italian Grand Prix, trophies have still been brought back to Milton Keynes thanks to Verstappen.
The Dutchman took his third win of the season at Monza in an impressive showing, racing away from the dominant McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to take the top step of the podium by a margin of just under 20 seconds.
"Oh, I think this is one of the most important pillars or foundations for the PU's [power unit] success," Farley started by saying to Sky Sports at Monza when asked about Verstappen's involvement with the 2026 engine that Ford will bestow Red Bull.
"Talking to Max, I think we at Ford have really grown our respect for Max, watching him this year, the way he has provided stability without drama in an environment where we're all just trying to do our jobs.
"I could really see that in his eyes today versus last year, and I think it's one of the great things about Laurent and his team. They all have this deep commitment to each other."
