The stewards did not make friends with everyone during the
Russian Grand Prix. The punishment of
Lewis Hamilton was questioned and the lack of a punishment for
Charles Leclerc caused incomprehension.
In the first lap of the race it was already over and out for
Carlos Sainz and
Lance Stroll. Sainz eliminated himself by hitting the wall, but Stroll entered the wall after contact with
Charles Leclerc. The Monegask was not punished by the stewards for this and that caused great dissatisfaction with Stroll.
Stroll angry at Leclerc
''I am very surprised that he was not punished. I'm going to give him a lot of space and then the bend all the way outside. He still hit me at the back. I gave him all the space, but I was just unhappy," says Stroll according to
Motorsport-total.com, where he also described the action as 'ridiculous'.
''He shouldn't have had to drive so wide and it's ridiculous that he doesn't get punished for this''. Leclerc himself changed his mind.
''I tried to overtake Lance on the inside, but behind Sergio Perez I got understeer. That's why I made contact with Stroll'', said the
Ferrari driver who ended up sixth.
