The Miami Grand Prix looks completely different from what it was a month ago. After multiple adjustments, including changes to Formula 1’s FP1 session and the addition of a Formula 2 round, this is what the schedule now looks like. After the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were cancelled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East involving Iran and the United States, a month-long break from racing awaited the drivers after the Japanese Grand Prix. On-track action resumes next weekend in the state of Florida.
After regulation changes were announced for the Miami Grand Prix this week, the only free practice session of the weekend was expanded from 60 to 90 minutes.
In a statement shared across its platforms,
the FIA explained:
"Following consultation with all stakeholders, it has been agreed that Free Practice 1 at the Miami Grand Prix will be extended to 90 minutes. As a result, the session will now run from 12:00 to 13:30 local time. All other track sessions planned before FP1 will also move forward by 30 minutes."This decision has been taken in recognition of the gap since the last Grand Prix, the recently announced regulatory and technical adjustments, and the fact that as the Miami Grand Prix operates under the Sprint format which reduces the amount of practice time available over the course of the weekend."
To avoid a three-month break in the Formula 2 season, the feeder series will also compete at the Miami circuit, giving fans more to look forward to next weekend. See the complete schedule below!
