Liam Lawson recently accused a dubious situation at Red Bull Racing being used as grounds to demote him. After the Hungarian Grand Prix, chief advisor to the Austrians, Helmut Marko, skimped past the New Zealander. A telling sign of what's to come? Hungary was a rather painful race for Red Bull Racing with
Max Verstappen finishing P9 and
Yuki Tsunoda in P17, after what was undoubtedly the most difficult race weekend for the now Laurent Mekies-led outfit, in years.
On the sister team's side of things, it did not look half bad.
Isack Hadjar managed to finish two places behind Verstappen, in P11, just one position shy of the points-scoring slots.
Lawson's point-scoring result overlooked, Hadjar praised for P11
But Liam Lawson turned out to be the highest points earner for the entirety of the Racing Bull's family with a total haul of 4 units derived from a P8 finish at the flag.
When the New Zealander's result was brought to Marko's attention, he spared no words for the former Red Bull driver. His attention switched to whom it is rumoured will be Yuki Tsunoda's replacement after the end of the present season.
A good result for Lawson in Hungary? "Also, (Isack, ed.), Hadjar," the Austrian said.
"I think he (Hadjar, ed.), was unlucky in the race," Marko added, before highlighting the speed present in both
Racing Bulls machines.
"Hadjar finished 11th and he lost out when the leaders overtook him. So they (Racing Bull's, ed.), had a very good performance," concluded Marko, not once complimenting Lawson's individual efforts.
