Mick Schumacher would make his first metres in an F1 car during a Grand Prix weekend last Friday. The bad weather put a stop to that, but Michael Schumacher's son was still close to making his debut.
So far, Alfa Romeo has said nothing about this, but Helmut Marko reveals in 'AvD Motorsport Magazin' at Sport1 that Antonio Giovinazzi was in the same boat as Alexander Albon. Both the Red Bull rider and the Italian, the results of this weekend's first corona test were unclear.

Schumacher sooner or later in Formula 1

Red Bull would already have asked Nico Hülkenberg to replace him and Schumacher would have been the first candidate for Alfa Romeo, according to Marko. "Giovinazzi had the same situation as Albon. Mick could almost have celebrated his race debut, but the second test was negative," said the Red Bull adviser.
By the way, Marko has no doubt that it is a matter of time before we see Schumacher on the F1 grid. "You know which drivers are on the market and who is having which conversations - I suppose Mick Schumacher will be driving with Kimi at Alfa Romeo next year. I think that's an excellent combination."
