Kevin Magnussen sees “no reason” why
Haas F1’s impressive start to the 2018 season should collapse any time soon.
Magnussen’s team currently sit 7th in the World Championship, but that could have been much higher had two pit-stops in Australia gone to plan.
They’ve finished and qualified ahead of the likes of Force India, Williams, Toro Rosso and even McLaren.
Kevin Magnussen explains why he doesn’t see any reason for this progression to suddenly head into reverse.
“It is hard to say and difficult to predict the future, but I don’t see any reasons why we would suddenly fall back massively,” Magnussen said.
“Sometimes you do get these surprises so hopefully we won’t get it.
“We’ve learnt since last year about the tyres and we have a more consistent car this year, but we are still not perfect.”
Haas has seen at least one of their cars present in every Q3 session this season.
At the start of the season, the Dane spoke about how the team aimed to be much more consistent in 2018.
After three races, Kevin reviews that comment.
“This year it seems like it is a little easier even at the beginning of the weekend when we haven’t sorted the tyres out perfectly, we are still up there.
“I feel we have a better starting point than we had last year, but we still need to improve.”
