After the conclusion of the Italian Grand Prix, on-track action at Monza continued, with Pirelli tyre tests featuring five drivers. Four teams completed programmes at the
Autodromo Nazionale Monza today testing Pirelli's compounds for the 2026 season.
As
GPblog reported earlier today,
there has been a change of plans due to weather conditions in Italy, as heavy rain is expected for Wednesday morning.
This meant that Red Bull and Aston Martin were on track only over the morning, handing over the track to
Williams and
Racing Bulls in the afternoon this Tuesday.
Max Verstappen was one of the five drivers in action in today's Pirelli tyre test
The results of the Pirelli tyre test this Tuesday
After winning the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday,
Max Verstappen first completed his programme using tyre compounds ranging from C3 to C6. The Dutchman's fastest lap time was a 1:24.117 on Lap 30, completing 59 laps in total.
After the reigning world champion handed the car over, it was
Yuki Tsunoda's turn, who did 63 laps. His best time came on Lap 30, which was a 1:23.826.
They were joined by Aston Martin's Felipe Drugovich. The Brazilian completed 118 laps in total, setting his best, a 1:23.792, on Lap 37.
In the afternoon, Williams and Racing Bulls took to the track with Carlos Sainz and
Isack Hadjar respectively.
The Spaniard did 49 laps, achieving his best on Lap 30 with a 1:22.388. The rookie completed 65 laps in total, achieving his best on Lap 41 with a 1:23.951.
These two teams ran the three fastest tyre compounds today, but not the C3.
Depending on the weather, Williams and Racing Bulls will be in action tomorrow as well. If it only rains in the morning, testing with slick tyres will follow in Monza in the afternoon.
Should there be more rain, the Italian manufacturer 'might take the opportunity to test the intermediate and wet tyres' to gather data related to the crossover point.
