Hamilton shares emotional message after historic Ferrari breakthrough in Barcelona

The British driver secured his first win for the Italian outfit following a streak of consecutive podium finishes. Hamilton, who endured a largely underwhelming debut campaign in 2025, has experienced a sharp contrast in fortunes, claiming three podiums in six races in the lead-up to the Grand Prix in Catalunya.

However, after qualifying on the front row for the Barcelona race, Hamilton and the Ferrari crew were able to masterfully execute a flawless strategy to pip the previously dominant Mercedes outfit to victory at the Montmeló circuit. The victory, which was Hamilton's first in 686 days – since the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix, where he inherited a race win following George Russell’s disqualification – has sparked plenty of emotion within the Ferrari team, including from Hamilton himself, who has not held back his feelings after winning in the red of the Prancing Horse.

Taking to Instagram, the seven-time champion shared a carousel of photos from Ferrari's post-Grand Prix celebrations, alongside a lengthy message that touched on resilience, the support of the fans, the hard work of the Ferrari outfit, and his appreciation for the victory in Barcelona.

"DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE. I can't begin to describe how amazing it feels to finally win in red. Grazie mille, @scuderiaferrari. For the hard work from everyone here today in Barcelona and back in Maranello. The passion and dedication to progress is paying off and this is only the beginning," Hamilton wrote.

"To all the fans, this win is for you. I could not have made it to this moment without the support from you all. You've stuck by me. There have been dark times, times where the negativity won out and I felt useless and hope felt impossible. You all told me to remember. To remember to fight, to remember to keep going. To remember who I am. This win is just as much yours as it is mine. Thank you Team LH, thank you Tifosi. Let's keep it going ❤️‍🔥," he concluded.

The victory for Hamilton in Barcelona also marked Ferrari's first victory since Carlos Sainz's win at the 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix. It also means Hamilton has become the first driver in the history of Formula 1 to win races in the colours of McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari.
