The summer break is finally over, as the Formula 1 season is set to continue this weekend at Zandvoort. Ferrari is ready to build on its momentum, team principal Frederic Vasseur said. Ferrari introduced new updates back at the Belgian Grand Prix. In Hungary, Charles Leclerc finished in P4, while Lewis Hamilton missed out on points. On Saturday,
the Briton also called himself 'useless'.
"We’re back on track after the summer break, which gave the team and the drivers a chance to recharge, ready to face a very busy final part of the season. In the Netherlands, we want to maintain the positive momentum built up over the past few races, where we made progress in terms of competitiveness," Vasseur began.
The drivers are 'ready' says Vasseur
The Scuderia's team principal continued: "Charles and Lewis are ready, and the team is fully focused, determined to put them in the best possible position to get some good results. This weekend, that means starting right from qualifying, which is particularly crucial at Zandvoort, given how difficult overtaking can be at this track."
At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc qualified on pole position, and was in first place until the final stint.
Vasseur was then asked about what they need to be able to challenge the McLarens, as the Woking-based team claimed another one-two finish at the Hungaroring.
"They perform in every single condition. When we are a bit more inconsistent during the weekend, and if we want to win, we need to be very consistent in every single condition. In the free practise [sessions] to have a good preparation for the race, in Q1, Q2, Q3, with all the sets in the race, with the different compounds and so on," he said at the time to GPblog among others.
