The McLaren driver, who spoke to the media following the conclusion of the Mexico City Grand Prix, revealed that he remains uncertain about what to expect at the Sao Paulo race, while stressing that he remains focused on making personal improvements.
He said: “Difficult to know what to expect. Clearly, the pace of the car has been strong. We’ve just not really been able to unlock it that much. We’ll learn if there are some things to change and make progress with that.”
“If I have, that’ll leave me relatively happy. If there are still some things to learn, then it’s back to the drawing board for me," he concluded.

During the Mexican Grand Prix, Piastri struggled to match the pace of teammate Lando Norris throughout the race weekend. The 24-year-old qualified for the race in eighth place and finished the Grand Prix in fifth.

Andrea Stella on Piastri’s Mexico GP struggles

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella addressed Piastri’s struggles at the Mexico City Grand Prix in comparison to his teammate Norris. The Italian motorsport chief explained that the circuit’s low-grip levels appeared to suit the latter better than the Australian.
Stella, however, concluded by praising Piastri, noting that his performance on Sunday was far better than his previous outing at the United States Grand Prix.
