Formula 1 has published its 2027 calendar, setting out a 24-round season that includes the return of two tracks and 10 sprint races, including the Monaco Grand Prix.

The season begins with pre-season testing in Bahrain from 24-27 February, at the Sakhir circuit, before the first Grand Prix weekend follows at the same venue on 12-14 March. Bahrain will also hold the first sprint race of the season.

Saudi Arabia is next on 19-21 March, before the championship moves to Australia for the 2-4 April weekend in Melbourne. That opening sequence puts Bahrain at the centre of F1’s early-season plans. It also offers teams a compact transition from the four-day test to the first competitive weekend. However, amid the tension in the Middle East, these dates could be subject to change, with alternative venues lined up.

The calendar then moves through China, Miami, Canada and Monaco, before Portugal returns at Portimão on 18-20 June. The Algarve venue is one of two prominent additions, alongside Istanbul, which is listed for 1-3 October. The Turkish round will take place at Istanbul Park as the race rejoins the schedule for 2027.

The British Grand Prix weekend takes place on 2-4 July, while the season will finish on 10-12 December in Abu Dhabi, which will also have a sprint race.

GPblog understands from multiple sources in the F1 paddock that there is now a 'ninety percent' chance that Rafael Camara will replace Esteban Ocon next season. However, the deal with the Ferrari junior is not yet completely finalised.

It was an open secret that Haas would part ways with Ocon after next season. The American team had three serious candidates in mind to replace the veteran: McLaren reserve Leonardo Fornaroli, Haas reserve Ryo Hirakawa, and F2 driver Rafael Camara. Jack Doohan also auditioned for Haas but was never truly in consideration.

Reigning Formula 2 champion Fornaroli has been dropped after a test in Portimao, although McLaren has not yet been officially informed. Hirakawa, a former World Endurance Championship (WEC) world champion, was Toyota’s dream candidate, Haas’s technical partner.

But the American team is not choosing the 32-year-old; instead, it is going for 21-year-old talent Rafael Camara. With this, Haas hopes not only to have selected the fastest driver, but also to score commercially. In his home country of Brazil, the Ferrari junior is already immensely popular.

The Dutchman was placed in identical machinery to a mixed field of athletes, creators and motorsport figures, with the twist that anyone he overtook was eliminated.

He carved through 64 karts on the opening lap amid early chaos, then reached the top 10 by lap six and sealed the win around half-distance despite a brief off and a lost camera.

Organisers added tactical “fast lap” shortcuts to aid the leaders, but Verstappen still overhauled the front-running trio to complete the 101st-to-first charge. Read more
