A sigh of relief for Honda after the FIA's cost cap review

No team exceeded the cost cap in the 2024 season, the FIA revealed on Tuesday.

Only Aston Martin has been found to be in procedural breach, and the federation entered into an Accepted Breach Agreement (ABA) with the British team a month ago to resolve the matter.

The other nine teams have been cleared, and all five power unit manufacturers were below the cost cap limit as well.

A year ago today, that was the case for two power unit suppliers when 2023 was reviewed.

A year ago today, the FIA released ABAs concerning two power unit suppliers — Honda and Alpine — which were also found to be in procedural breach.

In the reports, the federation stressed that both manufacturers “acted in good faith at all times” and would pay fines.

Honda had to pay $600,000, and Alpine had to pay $400,000 within 30 days of the agreement.
