Albon: "If I focus on that, all the other stuff will quiet down"

Alexander Albon is under great pressure at Red Bull Racing. His chance, that he can keep his seat for next season, is actually getting smaller by the race. Albon tries to focus on his own driving and leaves the stories for what they are.

“There’s talk, there’ll always be talk", he says to motorsportweek.com and others. "But at the end of the day, I know listening to whatever has to be said doesn’t change anything on-track. My focus is more on driving and the results more than anything else."

Extension for Gasly is not a good sign for Albon

After a pointless result in Portugal, Albon is behind Pierre Gasly in the championship. Until recently, the Frenchman was seen as a direct competitor for his seat, but this has now been confirmed at AlphaTauri.

With Yuki Tsunoda in the lead, this means for Albon that even a demotion to AlphaTauri may not be in it for him. He is not trying to be distracted by all this. “I know that if I focus on that, all the other stuff will quiet down a bit. These things happen, but I focus on the job and that’s all that matters.”
