Williams will have to make do without a spare chassis even after the Australian Grand Prix. Alexander Albon's chassis will be repaired for the Japanese GP, as a new chassis is not yet made.

According to Auto, Motor und Sport, Williams will not have a spare chassis for the next race in Japan either. The Grove-based team will now repair Albon's damaged chassis at their own factory, and the team hopes to have it ready in time for the Japanese Grand Prix. A spare chassis is yet to be made.

Williams also in Japan without a spare chassis

Williams does hope to have that spare chassis ready for the following Chinese Grand Prix, but even that is not a certainty. Williams' backlog stems from the long winter, during which a lot of focus has been put on improving the car. That has come at the expense of the number of spare parts that could be made.

Logan Sargeant is the big victim of this situation. The American had a fine Friday in Melbourne but had to give up his chassis to Alexander Albon.
